| Carrie Fisher, best known by Star Wars fans (and possibly everyone) as Princess Leia, passed away yesterday after complications from a severe heart attack she suffered mid-flight from London to California. Her grieving mother Debbie Reynolds died from a stroke today while planning her daughter's funeral. My heart goes out to their remaining family.
Thank you Carrie, for being a strong female role-model and inspiration to many. Your part in Star Wars may have set off a butterfly effect that helped make this very group possible so many years later. Rest in peace.
Other notable actors from the original Star Wars who have passed away in 2016, yet who may not have got the same media attention, are Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Erik Bauersfeld (Admiral Ackbar). May they rest in peace as well. | |

| Congratulations to SM DarkQuest for stepping out of retirement to come in first place in a NF Sabers@BGJ tournament whilst representing the Sith Mercenaries on February 4 2015.
Honorable mentions are SM Sith Lord for streaming some of the matches for Internet spectators to view as well as making it to the second round before being eliminated by SM DarkQuest. The fine folks in the jk gamesurge IRC channel. JKDF2.net who endorsed the tournament. As well as the other 8 participants in the tournament showing that JK is still alive and competitive:

| SWTOR is implementing a "free to play" option that enables players to play to level cap (50 as of this announcement) without a monthly subscription. However, they are not eliminating the monthly fee altogether, and those who remain subscribed will get a special unique currency deposited each cycle that can be used to buy gear (pay to win), those who don't pay the subscription will be subject to limitations, those who bought the Special Ed. will receive extra currency.
